Marine Education Center Programs
The Marine Education Center programs provide educational concepts about various aspects of the Long Island Sound ecosystem. We offer a wide variety of programs for visitors, schools, organizations, clubs and the general public. Programs are adapted to each group. Programs available are fieldtrips, outreach programs, daily programs, birthday parties and camps. Program topics include, but are not limited to marine ecology, animal adaptions, water cycles, climate change, history of the Long Island Sound, wetland ecology, invertebrate animals, and acoustics.

Outreach programs
Our outreach programs brings a hands-on, inquiry-based science to your classroom while encouraging critical thinking. Programs are available throughout the year. 

​Pricing and fees:
$200.00 for 1 hour and there is a $50.00 non-refundable deposit for all scheduled programs. Discounts available for multiple classes at one site consecutively. 
Dual programs available, for more information on doing a outreach program and a field-trip combined please contact our naturalist.

Field-trips
Register to bring your class, organization, scout group etc. to the Marine Education Center and get a hands-on experience. Through this experience students gain a better understanding of the Long Island Sound ecosystem. 


Pricing and fees:
$12.00 per student for 25 students. No fee for chaperone/teachers. We like fieldtrips to be at least 2 hours, but we can accommodate less than that!  

Daily Programs 
Free to the public, during our seasonal hours, the Marine Education Center provides programs for the general public. The programs are Wednesday through Sunday from April until November and available for all ages. RSVP for daily programs on our form above! 

MEC at your camp
The Marine Education center travels to outside summer camps to run programs. The programs can be fit to your camps specifications.
Pricing and fees
Flat price of $200 per hour
There will be an additional charge depending on distance of camp

Camp at the MEC-Bring your camp to us.
The Marine Education Center provides a very hands-on Long Island Sound based camp. The program will be planned with our naturalist depending on the age of your campers. 
Pricing and fees
$10.00 per camper for 1.5-hour program. A shorter program is accommodatable.

*A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required to hold your spot for all programs excluding daily programs.
Private Event at the Marine Education Center
Would you like a private event for you and you friends and children! Set up a 45 min persinalized experience with our naturalist! Kyle, our naturalist, will give you a tour of the center and then bring out some of the animals for everyone to touch along with a educational program about some of the animals in the tank!

This experience has a max of 8 children and costs $100.00.
